Gulfstream Aerospace announced on Friday that Rolls-Royce’s Pearl 700 engines have earned their FAA certification. Developed at the Rolls-Royce Centre of Excellence for Business Aviation engines in Dahlewitz, Germany, the engine model received its EASA certification in 2022. The Pearl 700 was custom-designed to power Gulfstream’s new G700 and G800 business jets.
“We are excited about this latest advancement towards G700 and G800 certification,” said Gulfstream President Mark Burns. “The G700 and G800 are introducing new standards for efficiency and performance in the business aviation industry thanks to the combination of Gulfstream aerodynamics and the Pearl 700’s efficiencies.”
Now nearing the end of its flight test campaign, the Gulfstream G700 is expected to offer a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935 and 7,750-NM range at Mach 0.85. The G800, which flew for the first time in June 2022, will have a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925 and a range of 8,000 NM at Mach 0.85. Both models are equipped with the Gulfstream Symmetry flight deck and feature a new winglet design.
